What you’ll be doing

As an Urgent Care provider, you will experience the full spectrum of urgent care conditions from acute illnesses to traumatic injuries.

  • Serving the acute care needs of patients 12 months and older
  • Interpreting diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKG's
  • Treating acute illnesses and injuries
  • Conduct school, sports and pre-employment physicals
  • Utilizing electronic medical record
  • Review patient medical history thoroughly, including allergies, problems, medications and immunization status and examining patients for symptoms or physical information
  • Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition
  • Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient
  • Administers or prescribes treatments
  • Prescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases
  • Promotes health by advising patients about diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease
  • Refers patients to primary care physicians or medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being
  • Documents the patient's visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action
  • Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage
  • Current CPR certification Understanding of the concepts of universal precautions, HIPAA and OSHA
  • Make sure to make appointed time and prepared and be prepared to leave after patient care is completed
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled

Required Education and Experience
Doctoral degree (M. D., Doctor of Medicine and D.O., Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) or equivalent Full-time physicians must be board-certified or board eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Emergency Medicine
